The Season Of The Ticks

It’s that season again, where ticks are thriving, and we’re doing everything we can to keep them off our pets and ourselves!

Ticks are unfortunately more than just a nuisance, they often carry diseases that affect both pets and people. If your dog or cat spends time outdoors, especially in grassy areas, wooded trails, or even your backyard, it would be wise to perform a quick tick check after every adventure. Pay special attention to around the ears, neck, armpits, between the toes, and under collars where ticks love to hide.

If you do find a tick, removing it properly is important. Avoid squeezing the tick's body, as this can increase the risk of disease transmission. Instead, use a dedicated tick removal tool designed to safely grasp and remove the entire tick with ease. Tweezers can work, but it’s tough to get a good grip on it with those. I am obsessed with these self closing ones that get a tight grip on the tick without squishing it —> https://amzn.to/4vytPKp
