Hot Walking Booties
My Winnie Girl
Are you ever worried about your dog’s paws on a hot day? Well you should be! Imagine walking barefoot outside on a hot day, ouch.
So, is it okay to walk your dog on a hot day? Yes, BUT with precautions.
Try holding your hand to the ground for 5-10 seconds. If that’s doable, then go ahead and walk your dog! Be sure to check the ground throughout your walk as the landscape changes. Black asphalt may be hotter than the gravel you started your walk on.
If you can’t hold your hand on the ground for 5-10 second, neither can your dog, at least not without protection.
What is protection you might ask? Dog Booties!! Did you know they make shoes for dogs?? If you didn't know, you do now!
My favorite ones have extra grip on the bottom making them not only great for protection from the hot ground, but also work as a non-slip option for those that struggle on hardwood floors!
